People have been great at work, nice people, and I'm still trying to get over how great the cafe girls are at remembering how people have their coffees. "Latte with two sugars", "Cappucino with one sugar", "Soy Flat White", "Soy Latte". And they remember our names, too!
I've also had just enough shirts to last me the week, so I've ordered a couple more from G2000 today.
Really, it's great to be at a job where I don't have to worry too much about working weekends, and I do find starting at 0900 to be quite a luxury, especially having had 0200 or 0500 starts previously. Even working until 1800 isn't too bad, and home is just a train ride away.
Speaking of home, Nick and I went house hunting today. Yes, it's time we found our own little space, and we want to be close to Nick's workshop, which means we'll be closer to the city as well. We'd been searched online last night for houses for lease, and found one at what what we wanted to spend. It was open for inspection for just ten minutes this morning, so we got up early and made the drive down.
HORDES OF PEOPLE WERE THERE. The house felt even tinier with the train of people who'd turned up to look. There were things we could overlook, but what made us walk out was the bathroom that was OUTSIDE the back of the house. Well, just in the backyard, but I sure wasn't going to be stepping out in the freezing cold for a bath in the middle of winter. The toilet as I could recall, was at the back of the yard. If this is what you get for $200 a week in Brunswick, we would have to spend a little more.
We headed to Carlton for brunch, picked up the newspaper, and found another home for lease in Brunswick. We immediately drove back for a look, and this one's close to the train station, and much closer to Nick's workshop, which was a plus. There was a yard which would be good for Cajun, and there was a park nearby for his walks. We're going to try to put an application in for this one, so fingers crossed!
I think it's time for bed. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd write a little bit. Apart from house hunting, I got three loads of laundry done, and I hung up the last load after watching Stranger Than Fiction on DVD. It was cold out there! Anyway, good movie, might write about it later.
