I've had a very enjoyable time at work this past month (tomorrow marks my first month in my new job), and as I told a colleague the other day, I get home and tell Nick all the adventures I had like I was at play school! "And then she said this, and then he said that, and then hahahaha..." You get my drift. Not that we don't get any work done, but there are lots of laughs along the way. Last time I checked, I've racked up audio visual sale quotes for over fifty events at the hotel now. Some small ones, some big ones, but it's a sizable amount. Just heaps of fun!
The other major thing that's happened is... from today, we've got our own place! Well, not yet, but we've signed the lease on a 3 bedroom house in Brunswick, and we move in next Friday! It's 8 minutes away from the train station, and just a block or so away from Nick's workshop. I'm just a 15 minute train ride to the CBD, so we're absolutely looking forward to it! (I was going to write "I'm Lovin' It", but it just sounded too wrong.)
I guess it's all fallen into place, hasn't it? My parents would attribute all this to God, but who's to know, hey? The conversations we have about religion (and my lack of involvment) seem to be happening via MSN Messenger now, and I do find it's working out pretty well. I think it's better when we can sort it out before giving a reply. What can I say, it's not something they'll understand.
Even the Peter Alexander sleepwear that I ordered last week at the ongoing 25% off sale arrived early this week. New (warm) flannelette PJs, new job, new home, who could ask for more? I'm just looking forward to setting up our new space, and cooking for friends again. We've even started planning how we should go about the move. It's difficult to co-ordinate now that I'm working Mondays to Fridays. We'll have to pack this weekend, Nick'll take boxes to store at the workshop during the week, then we'll move all the big stuff next weekend when we get our keys.
My aunt's even booked her visit this December, so we'll have a guest room ready by then.
Isn't this crazy? We haven't moved in yet, and I'm dreaming of where to place furniture! Anyway, that's my update for now. I need rest, getting up early to greet a client at her event tomorrow morning.
