It's less than an hour before I turn 27!

I must say it's been such a crazy year, let alone few months, that I've learned to pretty much run with it, and live life to the full with whatever I do. I have been enjoying myself, and that's what makes it all the more wonderful. Even being busy at work, I'm having such a great time, and it makes me appreciate what I fantastic life I have with Nick and Cajun.

So I turn 27 tomorrow. Nick bought me a worm farm for my birthday! It doesn't sound like much, but I have been thinking about setting one up for some time. I had a cardboard box in the yard with rotting leaves and branches, and we add offcuts of our vegetables to the heap, so I wasn't expecting it for my birthday. Nick even got me 1,000 worms, so I was set for it today, and I piled up the farm with some of my existing rotting matter. Mmmm...

It started last weekend when we visited IKEA to pick up some furniture. Okay, "pick up" is a bit of an understatement. I spent over $700 that day, but it felt good that I didn't have to worry too much about it. We got shelving for our study, and we decided on a futon sofa for the study, which will double as an extra guest bed if our guest room is occupied. I also got myself a desk lamp, some herbs, and a watering can. ;-)

Yes, I think I've reached that point where I'm paying off my credit card, and comfortable with some spending money. All well and good.

We also bought a new kettle today. New fandangled stainless steel finish, and very swish! Our last one was acting up, and I was a little peeved with the plug's connection. The other big spend this weekend was a outdoor brazier, which we've been thinking of, so that we can put on a fire in the back yard when we have friends over for parties.

And having a party we are, next weekend for my birthday, just a little house warming party. I've sent the invitations, and judging by how most people react to Cajun's photo, I'm quite sure he'll be the star of the party again.

Three minutes to midnight!
